Why choose bark blowing?
Bark blowing installation saves time, money and effort while reducing wasted material. Bark mulch is not only appealing to look at but also acts as a natural weed barrier, helping to prevent new weeds from growing. It helps retain moisture, protects plant roots from extreme temperatures, and reduces soil loss and compaction. Bark installed by our blower truck saves you time and effort, is more cost effective and reduces wasted material. No piles left sitting in your driveway and we can gain access to “hard to reach” areas. We use all natural products, no chemically treated bark. We install your bark precisely where you want it and handle all the clean up so you can just enjoy your beautifully finished landscape.
FAQ'S
-
How much bark do I need? One cubic yard at 3″ depth will cover approximately 108 sf. Use our online Materials Calculator to enter your measurements and estimate the yards needed for your job. We encourage you to estimate as accurately as possible and if you need help, please call us.
-
Is there a minimum required for bark blowing? There is a minimum of 10 yards for most local bark jobs. If the service address is more than 15 miles outside of our local area, the minimum is one full truck load or 25 yards.
-
How long will bark last?On average, about 2 to 3 years depending on the depth installed.
-
Is the bark chemically treated? No. We only use high quality, natural products. No chemicals or dyes. If you have a specific material that you prefer, we can install it for you as long as we can make sure it will work in our truck.
-
How far can the hose reach for blower truck application? We can install most bark/mulch up to 200 feet from the truck.
-
Do I need to put down weed fabric? No. Three inches of bark will give you the same weed control without the extra effort. If you do prefer to install weed fabric, that is perfectly fine. Plastic is never recommended because it will prevent water and air from reaching the soil.
-
When is the best time of the year to install bark?We blow bark all year round in all types of weather. Bark is beneficial in protecting your soil and plants in the winter as well as the summer. The only time we may not be able to blow bark with the truck is in extreme rain, thunder/lightning storms and freezing temperatures. Note, during our busy season (April – September) it is best to get on our schedule as soon as possible and plan on at least 2 weeks lead time.
-
What do I need to do on the day of installation? We ask that you turn off sprinklers and irrigation systems. Turn off heat pumps, A/C, etc. And make sure all windows are closed. Move vehicles away from installation area and be sure the blower truck has access.
-
How do I schedule a consultation or bark blowing appointment? You may call our office at (360) 456-0208, email to teri.c@natureperfect.net or submit a request online. When you schedule, you will be given a specific quote for the type of bark and yards needed. We generally do not provide free on site estimates. If it is a unique situation, we can do an on site consult for a fee. We have provided a yardage calculator on our website and can also provide measurement help over the phone. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.
